Funny thing, fools often think they are the smartest person in the room..... When everyone else in the room roll their eyes and are silently saying STFU...... If you are currently thinking you have never known a fool....then you are sitting closer to one than you think (insert eye roll)
I have known more than my fair share of fools.....if we don't limit the number, we talk about today this would quickly become a multivolume series of books. Years ago, a friend was a proud card-carrying member of a Union. Every month he would read the propaganda the Union mailed out....and then preach how much he knew about the world.
This is where I should make a personal statement on Unions.... every worker should want the protections of a Union..... but every worker should understand Unions can't protect you when your job is shipped overseas or even to the next state over. Unions have to know the fine line between benefits for their members,..... and excessive cost resulting in Rahul or Deepak learning to do your job......
Before you get a little too smug, all of us have been the FOOL at one time or another,..... let me share a few examples. I will start with my favorite, I will ask you a quick question and you answer very quickly.
Ok, for dinner you want beef-- maybe a steak or just burgers. What beef do you want???? Did you say Angus? Most of you probably only know Angus..... if that is the case, - welcome to the world of being the FOOL.....
If you carefully experiment, trying various types of beef you will most likely discover Angus beef is about the 9th or 10th best tasting type of cows. You should be asking, then why do I see Angus beef promoted everywhere I look?
The answer is of course marketing. You should be asking why would anyone promote the 10th best tasting product......? The answer is money. Isn't the answer always money.......
Angus cows gain weight cheaper and faster than practically all other types of cattle. You can raise Angus beef for less money, in less time than any other cow and thus, make the most money. So, the money men have used propaganda to make you think Angus is the beef you want....... Have they made you the FOOL?
My original thought was to breakdown several brands the way I did Angus beef..... but that is sort of like explaining to a Democrat every single reason why they are a dumbass. It's sort of over-kill.... so instead I will just name them, and you can do your own homework.
1. DeBeers Diamonds
2. Beats and Dre headphones
3. Aquafina bottle water
Have any of these 3 or 4 made you the FOOL? Well, if you have escape untouched by Angus, DeBeers, Beats, Dre and Aquafina you probably dated or married the one that made you the FOOL, rest assured all of us wear the funny hat one time or another......
Hmm, maybe I will share one last story in which money plays an important role. A friend/co-worker was from Iran.... He wore a white hat, ....but as I have written before many white hats have experienced issues with ethics, (not me of course....I would never cross the line)
As the story goes, Saeed was having family visit from the motherland and thus expected to feed a huge crowd at his home. Though technically an Iranian..... Saeed was beer drinking, blonde chasing snake of a man - I liked him.... anyway. As he prepared to feed his family he discovered Lamb chops are roughly 4 to 5 times the cost of pork chops. Hmm, what to do.......
After a few drinks.... the solution was....to prepare pork chops like they were lamb chops. .....thus condemning a couple generations to hell in that family. Funny thing is,....his family left saying they were the very best lamb chops they have ever had. Can you imagine if they tried freedom and Christianity!
Saeed, I'm not a popular read in Iran..... I think your secret is safe....not to mention Saeed and Boom are a couple of the most popular names for men in Iran. If only meat would baaa baaa or oink oink less people might be the FOOL. baaa oink
