I remember one lesson was about how you may not truly appreciate something until you have lost it. One example he gave was about water, and how you may never feel thirsty, but let the well go dry, or the pump stop working and instantly your throat is parched and your body is craving a drink.
Parents are like that...... you might not truly appreciate the people that raised you.....until God called them home. Or maybe it is someone you loved, how many times have we not truly appreciated the people we love until we have lost them.......
Life and love are very special items..... when you lose one or both of them....your life may never be the same. Do you know what it is like to love someone,.....to want to talk to them.....and you can't. Maybe it is because they have written you off..... or maybe it is because they have passed on. Either way, the loss is so very real.
Why do we cheapen the things we love the most?
Almost 60 years Pope Paul VI was speaking about birth control and he warned or feared the widespread use of birth control would lead to 4 issues, all of which were basically cheapening life. His first warning was that birth control would lead to infidelity. Basically suggesting sex without consequences was not a good thing.......
He continued by saying losing respect for women would be the next problem.... then he continued on predicting forced family sizes would result and that morality in general would decline.....
Clearly the Pope did not get everything right (not yet at least) ...... but I think we can easily argue the morality of the world has taken some major hits...... Here we are in 2026 and a jury could not convict Lindsay Clancy of murder after she killed three of her own children....
This is the point where I would normally say, WTF.... but the Lindsay Clancy story doesn't call for letters....and demands we say, WHAT THE FUCK is wrong with the world???
Have the morals of America fallen so low we cannot see killing your own children is murder? I honestly believe the Pope was right on at least some level.... birth control placed us on a slippery slope that was just a hop skip and a jump from abortion....and in 5 decades got us to Lindsay Clancy.
Did you know until the Great Depression hit all churches thought birth control was wrong..... Then when life got hard, many denominations altered their stance on birth control. The vast majority of Americans have so very little working knowledge of history, they cannot even form an intelligent opinion on many topics..... even things so simple as the killing of children and why.
I truly believe Lindsay Clancy was probably facing some hard times, but that should not relieve her of the responsibility of her actions. My God, she killed her own children...... and society seemingly is willing to say, ".....oh that poor lady......" What the fuck is wrong with America?
Lindsay Clancy should swing at the end of a rope..... strangling to death like her children died...... I have a rope I could loan her if she wanted to do the honorable thing.......
What say you..... if you were on the jury would her sad sap story get you to offer her a pass....or would you vote to let her swing.
