If you can't listen, then you will have to feel!

Story time: ....most parents have a saying that their children will never forget. I guarantee you if you asked my kids they would say, "..... my dad always said, .....it is all in how you tell the story!?

If I think back to my folks, they too were famous for one certain saying, my mom always said, "....I am a bitch, keep playing with me and you'll find out." Uh, yea, my mom was something.....I know she shot 2 people, that's a known fact, I would not care to guess the real total of people she shot at.....
Today I am thinking about my dad, and his words of wisdom, "......more than once I heard him say, ......if you can't listen,....then you will just have to learn to feel!" The first time I remember hearing that was in Lutesville, Missouri, we were buying lumber and I wasn't following directions. I was acting up in the lumber sections, now in my defense I was only 6 or 7 years old..... What happened was the worker loading our truck clubbed me in the head with a 2x4 about 16 feet long. The worker felt horrible, but dad insisted it was my fault.....and it was.
Here is the part where you tell me what your parents always said.... and what you say. But....I do realize you want to hear more about mom shooting people. Normally I would not tell these stories, but mom is serving time in the afterlife and being punished on this side of the veil is the least of her concerns.
I can 100% confirm these two stories are true....the first goes back to the early 1970's, late one night the dogs were barking, and I followed mom into the backyard to see why the dogs were upset. We could see someone working with a flashlight near the barnyard pump house.
Come morning we would learn the person had been trying to steal our pump, we know because we found our pump disconnected and his tools laying on the ground next to them. We also found a blood trial that led away from the pump house..... Mom had fired a dozen or so rifle rounds at the flashlight that night..... we heard a loud THUD, and then the man let out a loud moan.... a ditch ran next to the barn through the hog pen we heard a loud splash.... I would assume that was the thief trying to escape.
I never learned who the thief was....but it would be decades before another thief tried to steal from the farm.
The second time (that I can confirm) my mom shot someone was about 2003. Again, the dogs woke her up and she saw someone sneaking around the farm with a flashlight. That night she only fired 2 shots, both 12-gauge birdshot loads. Later I heard through the grapevine she ruined a good pair of Carhartt coveralls and it took hours to dig out the buckshot from the kid's backside......
.......hmm, was mom a bitch, or just good at home protection.... I am pretty sure these days she would make a great I.C.E. agent......
Ok, ........what is your famous saying?
