Is forgiveness possible? Do we all deserve to be forgiven? This is not a talk about religion, your relationship with God is yours alone..... Nor is it a discussion about criminal sentences, do the crime - you owe the time.

No, this is a talk about our relationships with those around us. How we hurt them and if forgiveness is possible?

Can you ever forgive me?

Once my wife told me only people you love can hurt you, because if you don't love them their opinion is worthless regardless. Hmm, though a powerful statement I question if everyone believes this way..... Far to often it seems people are more concerned with what people think than how things truly work out.

Now many of you will probably be shocked to learn I have offended a person or two..... If we are being honest, at one time or another I have hurt people, most often with a sharp tongue, a quick wit and the ability to cut you to the bone with words that have left people with PTSD.....

Words have long been my thing..... but not always. I was born without the ability to speak, in basic terms. Our family came from simple farm folk, not to mention being born at a time before specialist or wide spread knowledge was a part of the home town.

I was able to make sounds, but my speech was far from normal, only my parents could understand me and even they could only catch a word here or there. The local doctor (Dad always said he was barely better than a veterinarian) said not to worry. He claimed my speech was poor because I wasn't around other children, once I began school spending time with other children would correct my issues with speech in no time.

I can tell you now dad was correct, the good doctor was an idiot. Because of the doctor's lack of ability and knowledge my struggles continued longer than needed. The issue was a condition known as being tongue-tied. A simple surgery and therapy could have corrected the problem very quickly. However, it was not until I began school the issue was properly diagnosed.

In my second year of school a surgery corrected the physical issue, but it would take years of therapy to correct my speech. Kids can be cruel, don't believe me....then just try being the boy that talks funny..... I was unable to verbally defend myself and for years I endured their verbal abuse.

Their cruelty and rejection brought about my love of words. Make fun of me, reject me.....be prepared to face my wrath of words. Once I could speak....answer back, using the words that had formed and spent years coming to a boil inside my brain I seldom held back, cutting people to their emotional bones. At times creating emotional damage to equal my own......

The trouble with a talent for words is they at times slip out of a man without manors..... or maybe a man with basic humility would surely be smart enough to hold his thoughts to himself, but that skill I lacked. In the past when my words have hurt someone I loved, once the heat of the moment or the anger passed I would of course issue the standard apology.... Why is it a man with the power of words in a time of anger can then find himself powerless to express his regret, to fully say how sorry he is for what has happened and what he did? Even now I have dreams about my past mistakes, nightmares really in which my subconscious replays horrible events. Only now I know what should have taken place, what I must do to prevent the event. The trouble with dreams is they happen deep within the creases of your mind and when you awake the problem was never addressed. No problems were corrected, nor pain erased..... The benefit of a dream is peeking into a window to the past and seeing what could have been..... Of course, the pain returns when reality returns with the rising sun.

I have hurt people in the past....some that never forgave me, others that went to their heavenly reward before we cleared the air..... and yes, a few I couldn't care less about. The ones that hurt are the ones you truly loved, maybe still love, or will love forever but just cannot seem to get over the pain they feel in their heart.

That was an emotional story to write.....but don't feel sorry for me. You see I am a hypocrite! My memory is long, my ability to forgive is slight and my capability to forget is nearly nonexistent..... As much as I want to be forgiven for my misdeeds, I want to hold on to anger...... punish those that have hurt me.

If I were a better man maybe the ability to let go would grow within my heart. Of course if I was a better man maybe the need to forgive another would have never taken place.... So I ask, can you ever forgive me? You don't have to answer......

Lies you whole heartedly believe.....& sadly probably never questioned......

Senator Joseph McCarthy was an evil man determined to build his destiny. To expand his influence in Washington D.C. and across the United States he manufactured false claims to destroy his political opponents. That is the basic lie most Americans have heard, and believe. You would have to be crazy to even consider Communist are active in the United States......

That is what you have heard,......right? At some point in time a high school history teacher told you about poor movie stars and others living in Hollywood that were destroyed by McCarthyism. You were told that anyone that followed him were easily fooled, led astray by a man willing to destroy the lives of innocent people to advance his own career.

The question is, was McCarthy a madman...... or was he in fact a patriot fighting to protect America?

Communist have been fighting from within since the 1800's..... Do you know what the biggest war Americans have ever fought? The largest war in the world was not World War I or WWII. It was not the Civil War, Vietnam or Korea. The war that has claimed the most victims was the war on truth.......

Propaganda, or the War on Truth has claimed more casualties than all the other wars in history combined. It was after all the ancient Greek dramatist Aeschylus that said, "....in war, the truth is the first casualty." Of course many others have made similar claims through the years such as the US Senator Hiram Johnson that in 1917 that said, "the first casualty, when war comes, is truth."

In other words, don't feel alone if you have been led astray, because most likely have been been a victim of propaganda without even realizing it happened. Even the stories our parents told us as children were tilted in the direction they wanted us to lean.......

Upton Sinclair famously wrote the book, The Jungle, with the intent of spreading the benefits of Communism. Teddy Roosevelt, president of the United States somehow missed the political leanings of Sinclair and instead chose to focus on the need to regulate food and drugs.

Five decades later the American people would hear the words of Martin Luther King and embrace the struggle for racial equality....when the truth was King's desires were to promote Communism and not God. More than 50 since King was murdered the vast majority of the American public think about his struggles for race relations and only a select few even realize his true agenda was political........

In the 1930's William E. Dodd was the United States ambassador to Adolf Hitler's Germany. His daughter Martha traveled with her father, living in Germany from 1933 until 1938. It is well known Martha Dodd had numerous sexual affairs with ranking officials in Hitler's government. What is less known as early as 1934 Martha had been recruited by the Soviet Union to work as a spy.

Yes, the daughter of an US ambassador used her sexual abilities to spy on the United States and Germany to provide information for the Communist. Martha Dodd is a prime example of Communist and how they spied on the United States from within. She was one of the people Joe McCarthy tried to expose......

Martha Dodd, a Soviet spy that fled from the United States to save her life and lived in exile in Czechoslovakia until her death in 1990 was one the people McCarthy spoke about.....that you were convinced never existed.

Understanding current events is hard work.... spotting propaganda is even harder. It doesn't matter if you are a Democrat or a Republican.....both sides lie. Both sides present their beliefs in a manner to help influence your opinions....and they don't mind bending the truth to win your opinions...

When I say, "it's all in how you tell the story,"....you have to understand how true that statement really is!

When an American Hero is thrown under the bus

The 1930's and 40's were dominated by the Democrat party, and much like today people speculated American Democrats were on a slippery slope teetering in the direction of Communism. The greatest example is of course the following Senator Joseph McCarthy developed in his pursuit to out Communist living in the United States.

The American public were convinced McCarthy did not really have evidence of Communist. In the 1990's I took multiple college course that treated McCarthy and the Red Scare as a cruel joke played on the American public that ruined the lives of innocent people. But what is the truth?

Communism has been a ideological cancer dating back to the 1800's. Never developing a large enough of a following to seize control of the nation, but enough of a presence existed one must admit the challenge was real. Then in 1932 when Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected president the nation reached a cross roads..... Roosevelt could have led the nation to Communism, but to his credit he leaned Left, but didn't completely embrace the dark side. It is important to note that does not mean members of his government were good citizens.

One of the best examples is the Dodd family. William E. Dodd was a college professor from Chicago that was named the Ambassador to Germany

Story time: ......every student of history has heard the horror stories telling how Senator Joe McCarthy created a witch hunt chasing "Communist" hidden in America. For decades we have been led to believe the Red Scare was fake news.......but was it?
